iyetl (MH613v)
Simplex Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This is a black-line drawing of a simplex glyph for the noun iyetl ("tobacco," or "incense"). It doubles as the simplex glyph for Acaiye (see below). It shows a vertical stick that is thicker and black in the top two thirds. It seems to be a stick that has been dipped and coated with a tobacco (iyetl) substance or perhaps copalli resin.
